A spacious 1500 sft. three bedroom home in the heart of Mangalore city, the apartment held tremendous untapped potential and promise at the outset with it's orientation, light and ventilation. The well-traveled clients, having lived in numerous cities around the world wanted a home that they could retreat into, to get away from the sapping heat of the Mangalore summer and a place to watch the beautiful rains that wash the city every monsoon.
Situated on the tenth floor of an eleven storey building and overlooking a coconut grove, the home is blessed with natural light with all three bedrooms and the living space awash with sunlight all through the day. However, the heart of the house, the dining and the kitchen space located centrally were dim and dark. The design revolved around opening this space up to help the light penetrate through the entire apartment, creating the illusion of a larger and lighter space.
The color palette is kept simple and non fussy with every element and color adding to the larger goal of a clean and minimal apartment with a great view.
